Sarah and Dan
October 29, 2011
I was thrilled to spend a day in Cape May, N.J., with Tania Lezak, who is one of the nation’s best wedding photographers. We were there for the marriage of Sarah Karabulut and Dan Mansfield.
The ceremony and reception were at Congress Hall, a beautiful hotel just across from the beach.
I love shooting along the Jersey Shore, as well as in Philadelphia and the whole Bucks County, PA, area — Newtown, Doylestown, Southampton, Holland, Langhorne, Yardley, New Hope, Washington Crossing. Washington, D.C., is great, too.

Erin Jones and Vance Hensler were great. They did everything I asked. If I’d told them to stand in the middle of the river, I think they would have done that, too.
They were married at First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon. Their reception was at the Smithfield Fire Hall.

You need to eat dinner at Honey in Doylestown, PA.
The food is awesome. It’s small-plates, or tapas, style. We shared:
- a cheese plate with pear mostarda, tapenade, tomato marmalade, honey-glazed walnuts and a warm baguette
- sweet-potato fries with soy-maple and sweet chile sauces
- salmon tacos (unbelievable spice-rubbed Scottish salmon!) with soft corn tortillas, sweet corn and charred poblano relish
- coffee-chipotle veal carnitas with honey-lime crema, pickled green tomato and whole wheat tortillasbraised Amish chicken with edamame, serrano chiles, sea beans, cilantro, bomba rice in a coconut-carrot broth
- fried apple pie with rosemary-cream cheese ice cream, warm caramel sauce and Applewood bacon bits.
Honey has lots of exotic beers, good wines and fancy mixed drinks, so take a designated driver. And take money.
Rachel and Gus

We caught a huge break. The rain eased up long enough for photographs on the Penn State campus, and that was important to Rachel Moses and Ghassan “Gus” Zughaib. They met on campus and fell in love there.
The ceremony was at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in State College, and the reception was at Toftrees Resort. Special thanks to Father John Reeves for his kindness.
